It's actually a very good idea.  At some point inthe distant past, Trail
Blazer had awards for vets, ride managers, and crew, based on the miles of
rides they vetted, managed, or crewed on.  It was amazing how fast some
people accrued mileage by crewing consistently for a few friend.  In that
program, they earned "points" by the miles they worked on.  (25=25 points,
75=75 points, etc.)  I believe that the awards were patches at certain
milestones (ie 500, 1000, etc.)
