Marge, thanks for your post. N.C. is not a very horse-friendly group out here, and I'm glad you pointed that out. Audubon Society is also anti-horse, and worst of all is the Native Plant Society (v. big out here in Calif.) These groups oppose us in planning projects and if they get land they kick out the horses, alleging various "impacts" which, of course, have no basis in science. Not enough people know this.
