stereotyping...environmentalists.

Yoo people....there is more out there in the world than just horses
(believe it or not!)

There are extremes in every group, Sierra Club included. Many call
themselves environmentalists but do not see the whole picture. The
extremenists (sic) give true environmentalists a bad name, especially
when people stereotype, which "I" see is happening here.

If it were not for the Sierra Club Legal Defense group, many areas would
now be gone...logged out, developed, unaccessable to everyone, people,
bikes, equine...all of us. I'm not saying they are 100% right, but
join, volunteer, vote, get involved before you throw stones.....

Please don't sterotype and and lump the extremenists together as one
group. We are sooooo lucky that some true conservationists recongnized
the need to preserve land for future generations (us) and it is our
responsibility to continue that fight to the best of our abilities.
(Live on John Muir, and thank you.......)

And yes, I've seen people walk their horses up and down creeks, stepping
into spawning beds with salmon eggs, cigarette butts on the ground,
hi-lines wrapped around trees with no protection....we are human and
that means we are not perfect....just uneducated at times. Laws and
enforcement will not change these acts against the environment, only
education and improvement of ethics. Who else to call attention to acts
of this kind or acts of more serious consequence? All because it was
done this way for generations, when the harm was so slight no one
noticed, does not mean it can and should continue, when there is so
little left......

Let us not bash a good organization for the sake of the few extremists
in our error of stereotyping.

Off the soapbox (thats biodegradable soap....)
(flame me in private please so Steph doesn't get mad! <g>)

AND, please say a prayer for Sandy Schular's horse Magnum, as he had
colic surgery on Sat. and the outlook doesn't look very good.....

Kimberly (after seeing true wilderness in Alaska, I know what we've lost
in the lower 48...)
(&Mystery the Morab...."I recycle grass!")
