Brow Band

I have a horse that was abused before I got her... she is real head shy...
to alleviate some of our problems in tacking up, I have removed the brow
band, and made her headstall more like a halter... the throat latch is in
place with keepers, I use a nose band and a jaquina.  Does anyone else have
a set up for riding, not using the brow band, that maybe could write me..
