Excuse me ! I happen to be a rancher and an endurance rider subscribed to
ridecamp , please don't start this type of crap on the list which is for
endurance riding not the pro's and con's of ranching and environmentalist's
.Please think before you make a comment as most of us have to make a living
working and there is no reason to offend for no reason .

Drin and Bo,

Did you people out there wondering about the price of endurance horses ever
consider what bearing the BLM feral horse adoptation program has on the
market.

Consider the National advertising done for this program (and you the
taxpayer pay for it), the number of horses available (over 10,000 yearly),
the minimal cost to the adopter ($125.00), and the free publicity given
these horses in endurance riding and you might get a bit upset!

The BLM is in direct competition with you, just one of the reasons I have
given up on raising endurance horses.

I too have to make a living working.

Sorry to have offended you.

I was trying to catch up on all the email (just under 200 messages) and I
was a bit sleepy and should have re-edited my message before sending it.
There were some "personal info/opinions" that should have been left out. I
did not mean to cause any disrespect to anyone.

My bottom line was I was hoping that we could keep an open mind on
alternative sources for horses.
As others have replied to the list the $125 fee is just that. The cost to
train a horse far way exceeds this fee. But it is a way for people to
obtain a horse for a small amount up front and not all horseman are
competitive riders. Many horseman seem to only own horses for pleasure.

Please note: I respect the job that all farmers and ranchers do!

These replies to my message have gotten way off the topic of Endurance
riding and I apologize to all!
If you wish to reply to me please do so (but directly to me) so that those
interested in topics directly dealing with Endurance riding can do so. I
made an error in judgement in sending my original message with personal
info included, which resulted in replies (which I am sure most subscribers
are not necessarily enjoying); especially when they have questions/topics
directly related to endurance.
