I don't ride the distances you do so this may not be much help.  My soft
rider has done real well by me except for the hardware rusting and
chewing up the nylon.  The saddle makers have offered to fix this at
some point.  I use the black pads and then put a navajo blanket
underneath.  That has worked okay so far.  I've recently bought a
sheepskin to try too.  No back problems but the longest I've gone is 35
miles, so far.  I don't cinch it real tight either and that may make a
difference.
