While many consider it an economic proposition only. Joining the AERC
and paying the membership fees should have little to do with
economics. If economics were all to it you would calculate how many
rides you would do a year and either join or pay the additional
non-member fee.

Joining the AERC is more like a citizenship. You are joining something
that you want to belong to and to serve it in some way. This could a
matter of just paying fees, to more active participation, all the way
up to being a board member.

There is little doubt that the AERC supports the sport and it's really
up to you to use it change things if you really love this sport and
want it to continue.

For the record, I haven't joined yet. I'm not sure it's true love yet!
