Re: Saddle packs/bags for english saddles

I've taken 1" wide nylon strapping and made 'extenders' with a flat loop on one end and a dee ring at the other end. I run the billets through the flat loop with the dee ring hanging behind the saddle to clip the cantle bag to. So far, this hasn't failed me! :-)

Subject: Saddle packs/bags for english saddles

Hello Everyone,

I have always ridden western or Aussie saddles and am not very
knowledgeable of english saddles.  I would like to purchase a
dressage type saddle to try out for trail riding (they look so comfy)
and I'm wondering what type of saddle packs people use to carry their
stuff in when there are no dees around the back of the saddle.  I've
seen the saddle pads with the built-in pockets, but I'm looking for
something more along the line of the snugpacks type.  What do those
of you who ride english saddles (with no dee rings in back) use?
Please help . . . . . . . . and thanks in advance for any tips
offered.
