RE: hunter's bump



Two different vets have diagnosed my horse's hunters bump as described. One
is Dr. Barry Grant, who is also an endurance rider. The other is Dr. William
Wood, who does both veterinary and chiropractic practice. As with your
horse, as mine tired, he would slip with a back foot, which yanked his hip
down. This correlates to Nancy Loving's description of a hunters bump. The
combination of chiropractic treatment and strengthening exercises
(figure-eights, which are the best rear-end balance and development
exercises you can do with a horse) simultaneously reduced the slipping
problem and the hunters bump.
