Hi Wendy all my horses eat beet pulp  I have been using it 
since the fiftys for heavie horses to replace hay. it was all 
we had back then    Mix her meal in it at feeding time or
put carrots and apples in it  I just took my five year old on a
ten day pleasure ride and instead of increasing grain he got
his food mixed up with the pulp.Probably two cups each feeding
