saddle survey (long)

I took this saddle survey at the beginning of 1998. I found it only
somewhat helpful. It revealed there are many, many different saddles to
choose from. I believe the buyer must learn as much about saddle
fitting as possible to make the right choice. Taking your horse to tack
shops and having them fit different saddles, reading as much as
possible, and talking to as many different people as possible is a good
beginning.

I've felt guilty about not compiling and sharing this information and
apologized that it took so long. I am sending it in the easiest format
I know, plain .txt.    The headings are: saddle, experience of rider;
comments. I am leaving out people's names on purpose as they may not
want their names to be published. If anyone wants someones names to
contact them let me know privately and I will forward their message to
that person if I am able.

I hope this helps someone out there. I am sorry it is so long. I know
I cannot send attachments to ridecamp but am hoping this format will
make it to the archives.

Happy saddle hunting to all. BTW, I ended up with a saddle not even on
this list! A Kieffer dressage, but am still looking for the right
distance saddle.
