The same way you get to Carnegie Hall - practtice, practice, practice...  You migh try starting with ground rails in the ring.  Then next move on to uneven trails.  I best way I found to do this is very rough - uneven ground.  It only takes so many stumbles until they start payinmg attention to the trail.
