thanks! (shoeing/pads)

i'd like to thank everyone for the wonderful information about the full pad
question i posted earlier. though, in my brain, i knew all along that pads
were an acceptable option on my rock sensitive horses.....it was certainly
good to hear it from other people too -- especially since a supposedly decent
professional trainer in my boarding barn has been fervently trying to dissuade
me from them, stating that they would radically change dottie's hoof angle (i
didnt see how it could, since they were standard pads i was considering, not
wedge). since im hoping to get my other filly to the tevis when shes old
enough -- or good enough -- the issue of front pads IS a concern (as someone
wrote me "It is cheap insurance-put all the time and training in and then have
your horse out at the first vet check from a stone bruise." -- with my luck,
this would happen).

again....i would like to extend my thanks and commendations to all those
seasoned and veteran ridecampers out there who have offered help and
information regarding my switch into this sport two years ago. what a
pleasing breath of fresh air it is to come from cut throat hunter competition
to a group of people who are always willing to offer their experience and
knowledge.

see you at the rides (when my big mare is up and going again)...and
eventually...the tevis (in eight years -- HA!)

mary and dottie and sable
(who are also baffled as to why we havent received a digest in 3 days or
so....oops!)
