Julie,
I have to agree with your opinion.  We 
have so many "high tech" solutions to
our problems these days, I think 
newcomers must think you have to be a 
Phd. to ride endurance (I have always
been amazed at the number of DVMs who
participate in all phases of the sport, too!).

I wrote an article in 1977 for EN called
"The KISS Theory, (Keep It Simple
 Stupid)".  I still subscribe to that
philosophy.

PS If anyone has the EN from 
1977 and 78, I would love to have copies
of them!  They were published before we
had an official AERC Office and the
publications were a little inconsistant.
Phil Gardner, Shannon Yewell, Lori and I 
actually laid out and put together a
couple issues those years, but I have 
lost them.
