Re: Just curious/survival skills (Was: search & rescue/kicking incident)

As I can't for the life of me figure out why she didn't just

I had an accident, not even in the league of this one, where Kaboot wiped
out at a gallop and broke my collarbone. It was a pretty bad break,
about an inch gap between the ends where they were pointing up...fact is,
I don't think there's any way I could have ridden in. For one thing,
when I stood up, everything went black and they had to help me back to
the ground for awhile. When I walked, I had to hold my right arm tight
against my body with my left to make sure it didn't jiggle even a
little...compare that to the motion of a horse's walk/occassional prance.
I'd have blacked out big time.

I probably COULD have eaten some bugs....might have taken my mind off the
pain, but it wouldn't have helped me ride that horse back to the barn.
The cell phone in the rider behind me's pack was a LOT more help. Anyone
who is as pasty faced as this girl was described did not need to be
riding in.

Angie McGhee and Kaboot (What'd I do?)
