Doyle Patrick - new AERC Executive Director

After a very thorough candidate evaluation process, AERC has
hired a new Executive Director. There were many very quailified
candidates but the Board of Directors voted by majority to offer the
position to Doyle Patrick. He accepted the offer and will begin
May 1.

The June Endurance News will have a full story on Mr. Patrick.

The BOD felt that he was extremely well qualified to manage
all aspects of AERC business. Mr. Patrick was a successfull
and well-respected manager at Pacific Bell, responsible for
substantial budgets and large staff. He has published the
WSTF (Tevis) newsletter for the past few years, and has been
an endurance participant himself - so he understands the sport and
the people. Mr. Patrick is very enthusiastic about his new position
and is certain that he can help AERC grow as a business and an
organization.

Lynn Goleman has been acting Executive Director for the past
few months, while AERC searched for someone to fill the post
fulltime. Thanks to the dedication and guidance of Lynn and other
board members, and the hard work of the office staff, AERC's
affairs are in order and Mr. Patrick can smoothly assume
his new position as Executive Director.

Thanks to Ramey Petticolas-Stroud and the others that engineered
such a thorough recruiting process - and welcome to Doyle Patrick!

Steph Teeter
NW Director, AERC
