For some time I have been reading up on
and talking to people about different kinds of boots. My Arab is narrow and does interfer some on front and back. I have been confused by the different advice I get and therefore, haven't done
anything about it. Yesterday, the vet
came for their immunization shots. She
rides endurance and commented on some
slight swelling in my guy's front legs
between the canon bone and the first tendon. She said it is not serious now, but it will be my horse's weak link. We
talked about boots and she recommended at least the splint boot for the interfering and she suggested the Sports
Medicine Boot II (one or the other) She
uses the SMB but commented that Valery
Kanavy's horse Cash has this problem and
she rides with the splint boot.(I hope I didn't get who uses what backward) She also recommended a feed supplement such
as Cosequin or Flex Free during ride season. All preventatives to help prevent or minimize the joint stress. I would greatly appreciate any experience you have had with these products. Susan
