The woman speaks the truth - I've been there and done that.

I believe that in the SE most crews will provide water to whatever horse
and rider comes along.  I have seen Lynn Crespo give electrolyes to horses
tha came along while she was waiting for Carlos. A short stop for a shot of
electrolytes and a long drink and on your way.

Crews are very important here, not only for the rider who the crew is
working for but for the other horses.
