hi cindy-- use to do it all the time before i used the eq sneakers.
i never used the foam --you wont need it.. they are a real job to get
off ..
i used them on the od50/ and a few shots at the 100.
also used them on the rocky rides in pa.. i ran them on all 4.. sure cut

up a mess of easy boots.. the steel on the inside and the rocks-roads
etc on the outside did wear them fast.. i now use those for spares

i cut the back way down to below the heel..no rubber touching the
hoof-hair line.. takes a few fitting sessions to cut the right amount
off.
