Can only speak for what my particular P-stop rig carried for the USA squad,
but about the only thing we had on board that the horses consistently wanted
and ate at the p-stops was fresh-cut green stuff very similar to alfalfa that
could be purchased at the local feed "stores" that catered to the camel folks.
The horses had been acclimating to it during their pre-ride stay, and they ate
that juicy stuff up like candy.
