Sharon, thank you,  I stand corrected, it being a BLM ranger and not a FS
ranger who gave you and OT such a hard time that year.   Funny thing, the
BLM has also harassed Dave Nicholson over the XP rides through Nevada.  
A perfect example of the inscrutable ways of BLM is on Highway 50 west of
Austin, NV, west of the Reese River.   The old pony trail, still clear
after 138 years, comes straight across 50 BUT the BLM saw fit to string a
3-4 strand barbed wire fence across the trail on BOTH sides of the road. 
So where are the gates?  About 1/4 mile to the east...oh well.   Connie B
