Some horses can be excitable without giving themselves adrenaline jolts.  I
like horses to be relatively calm, but I actively select for horses whose
pulses don't go up very much when they get interested in their surroundings or
are "high" about what is going on.  This ability DOES seem to run in
families...

Hi, Heidi
I bought my first HRM because I was afraid Ligeira's excitement (either in training or compettion) would effect her HR too much. I was really amazed to notice that it had not any effect at all! I was blaffed to find out she was able to fight like hell if something appeared inappropriate to her, without any influence to HR!
But never, ever influenced by fear, or scary things, that would make thousand horses run to flight. In this sense, real calm and trustfull.
In the meantime I believe that *these* horses (although sometimes a bit unpleasent for the rider...) are the real gift, the best. Of course this run in families: it's the core of nobility.

I wish that such a horse, whatsoever his breed, will cross my way again.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Frank
