Kanavy Training & WEC Purse

Just sitting here wondering about what kind of conditioning
Jedi received to be able to carry that much speed through
heat over the frequently deep sand course...

When did the Kanavy's go over to Dubai?  Three weeks or so
ago when the rest of the US team went, or earlier?

Had Jedi ever been there before?

Also, the UAE Khaleej Times newspaper said that the purse for
this race was 1,000,000 "dirhams."  Does anybody know what
that is in US dollars?

And also, how can it be that US team riders finished 1st
and 6th, yet do not turn up in the first three team medals?
What happened to the rest of the team?
