Most of us agree completely with this statement--the disagreement comes in how
to achieve it. When increases start driving members and riders away, then one
has reached a point of diminishing returns. We would likely be quite solvent
if dues were $1000 and we only had 100 members, too, but what's the point? I
think it is terrific that folks like Randy Eiland and others have been
successful in garnering outside sponsorships to help with our financial
state--so why can't we continue to give our new folks some hospitality and let
them get their feet wet before we smother them with fees? What is REALLY sad
is the epidemic of rides leaving the organization--that speaks more loudly
than all the complaints combined.
