Wintecs vs. Thorowgoods

Hi, as a side note to the Wintec thread. (I am considering a Wintec
endurance model) I am curious about the Thorowgood. (They seem to be
well liked, lightweight, come in brown as an alternative, and have a
good reputation.) What if any is the difference in them as far as fit,
construction, etc? They also seem to be economical as well as the
Wintec. They are featured on the page next to the Wintecs in the State
Line Catolog. I read good things about both in an old issue of Horse
Illustrated. I'm sorry you had bad luck with your Wintec Joe, but so
far, you have the only bad report. Does anyone know if the Thorowgood
has an endurance model? I noticed in the State Line Catalog that the
tree comes in reg. and wide. I would think with an arab that reg. is
what I would need. Any input here folks? This is my biggest problem,
saddle fit. We have even resorted to just riding with a bareback pad,
but I have to admit, I want a saddle sometimes!

Thanks,
Heidi, Donte and Classy Bey (who is currently on the confirmation
board of AI - check him out!)
