tall horse

Julia,

Hi, I had to jump in here and comment about tall. My Trenton horse, who
has just achieved 3000 ECTRA miles, as of the Fort Valley 50 last
weekend, is 16.1 hands. I agree with the person who commented that tall
is fine, but big bulky muscle is not fine. Plus, you said:

I am a featherweight rider so I don't have to have a large horse.
I just really like this guy.

Well, first of all, IMHO, it isn't the large horse who can carry the
heavy rider well - the large horse has a big job just carting himself
around, so I wouldn't say anyone *needs* a large horse. Second, if you
really like this horse, go for it! You may be partners for many years, so
liking each other is extremely important. Good luck!

Patty
