No No, breed doesn't matter but size does.  You have a much better view
of the world off a 17-2 hand horse than a 14-2 hand horse.  Off a tall
horse you are able to see sponging holes at a much greater distance and
get your sponge ready.  Also the extra heigth allow you to cast your
sponge over rocks and brush and still that would be in the way for a
shorter horse.

So by and far a tall horse would much ber perfered to a short horse.
Now since most Ex race TB's are 16 plus, then they would make a good
choice.
