Re: Trailer opinons wanted

We purchased a 4 Star aluminum, 3 horse slant, gooseneck, dressing room and rear tack area.  Has escape door, drop windows, hanging mangers that snap away.   We had a mattress custom made for $200 to put in the neck end. We will be insulating the interior and roof...it sweats in 40^ temp and gets very cold...tried it first before doing interior.  We will be building our own cabinets for storage (costs can run $1,500-$4,000 for custom cabinets). We decided not to cut an access door to the first stall to save wall space for hanging.  We bought an awning ($450 plus install)...bought a dog show rug that allows water, sand etc to filter thru (9x10) for entry under awning. Porta potty (coleman), coleman stove/grill combo $99 will be fitted on a pullout.
Installed airconditioner (we live in Fla.)  will need heater, tho. Made a velcro weighted screen door...use our doggie gate for stranger prevention!!!
Currently tote all the stuff back and forth til cabinets are built.  Have seen some units really decked out...side cabinets have been built.  Water tanks added with showers in first stall area, sinks etc.  Your imagination is the limit.  But do insulate...and have an RV place install any of your electrical or plumbing because it becomes very complicated.  We took this route for several reasons but in the end, the price will be very close to that of having purchased a really good used with living qtrs.

Good luck,

Subject: Trailer opinons wanted

There are a couple of us that are interested in finding out about trailers.
I am so wondering about sleeping the goosenecks and the dressing rooms of 3
horse slant bumper pulls.  I have heard that they are very cold and that you
need to insulate them.  Is this true, do any of them come insulated?  I'm
not looking to spend a lot of money but would like to get something that
will last and be comfortable.  I have a 1T Chevy with a 350 and don't have
any trouble pulling.  I have a camper shell on though and would have to
delete that if I got a gooseneck.  Has anyone ever heard of dressing rooms
with a door into the horse part of the trailer to be used as a bigger living
area when you're not using for the horses?  Any comments or notes will be
appreciated.  I will start looking around December 1998 in northwestern AZ
and near Vegas.
