solution for white hairs on the withers from the saddle



In response to...

I mean, how many of your horses, say 50 milers and up, commonly have 
these areas from saddles that don't seem to sore your horse otherwise. 
(not the current case in Mystery, but in others I've seen..and his white 
spots are in a different area than his soreness right now..).

***** my best solution to this has been to make sure i get a nice
gray arab.  then - if he is not sore - i never have to worry
about it.

You just have the wrong color horse.  You don't need to look for 
a new saddle - just a new horse... This is much simpler - there
are a lot of folks that have the right solution for the horse
on ridecamp.
