Travel requirements and vesicular stomatitis



For interstate travelers, if you are moving a horse originating in New
Mexico, Arizona, Colorado or any state where vesicular stomatitis has
been diagnosed, your veterinarian may need to include a statement on the
health certificate indicating that the horse is not being moved from a
premises or area under quarantine and that the horse has no signs of
vesicular stomatitis.  Currently, this is being treated as an "Emergency
Notice" in the regulations governing health requirements for the
admission of animals by some states (California, for example).
