<< Has anyone used the magnetic therapy for soft tissue trauma, or a strained
suspensory apparatus? If so what type of program did you do? Did you put
them on daily, how many hours, etc..? Did you use other therapies with the
boot? What kind of results did you see with them, what type of boot did you
use, where did you get it, and what was the approx cost? Hows that for

old email..
well i dont really think the static boots do work very well.. to weak..
however some of the mfgrs claims are interesting..
by theroy they should work.. have to leave them on for hours --like all day..

the magnetic field is suppose to align the cells to help them heal.. all
forces going in the same direction..the cells at the molecular level will
increase activity to open the muscles and blood vessels
this will result in increased blood flow and reduced inflamation..

thats sort of the way i see it..
i have use store bought boots and my own using magnets from radio shack..
not sure it helped.

maybe stonger magnets.. i started a project on this but got sidelined..

NOW what does work is the ELECTRO MAGNETIC boot.. from Centurian..

I bought one.. used.. cost a bunch..

but it works fast..

it is a pulse induction magnetic system that emits a field of energy at
selectable frequinces.

its based on the concept that the cells have a 'working' freq..

the low setting is below this point.. thus the cells slow down.. used after
and injury.. to reduce the inflamation.. you dont let the damaged cells
causing more damage..

this takes about 30 min 2 to 3 times per day

then after x days when the pain and inflamation is down

go to the mid freq.. this is approx normal freq off cells..

this step gets the cells to loosen up to get to a normal state faster..
can take days here too

then to high freq..
this seting over stimulates the cells to increase activity to make them
stonger the tissues grow back faster and with less scaring..

an accelerated healing ..
but the soft tissue ie lig and tendons still need time to heal.. but not as
long
and they should get stronger..

---------- case history one rat
End of March ist ride of season--
i have used it on my one rat horse.. she pulled a susp in the spring.. a mud
hole etc.. and her weak rt susp..of course what else ..

so i did ice for 20 minutes then put on the boot.. low freq. at the ride
after we were done. she was g3 lame and really filled bad..

stayed at the ride over night.. kept resetting the timer and let her turned
out in a small round pen at the site.

gave some msm and other stuff.. homeopathic --

took the boot off after 4 or 5 30 min sessions.. and used more ice then a
quilted wrap with ARR - arnica ruta rhus onit over night.

in the am she was g1.. with minor filling..

the treatment for the next full week every day was 2 --30 min sessions on low
freq.
she appeared sound after the week.. no stall rest and wrapped during the day
with quilt and ARR onit for about 8 hrs..

Week 2 mid freq for 4 days 30 min each day.. no warps
very sound no riding
week 3 about 4 days on high setting for 30 min each day..

one more week turn out .. sound

started work.. stayed sound

5 weeks after injury did a 2 day 50 natrc.. sound but she did fill more after
the ride.
back to step 1 for a week never lame..
did another week --4 days on high fo 30 min..

leg has been great all year with no lameness.. i believe the sessions helped
to make the susp stronger.. instead of weak and sensitve to any excessive
stress or use..

she never showed any sensitivity or imparied travel from apr to nov..

------ i conclude the device worked..

so i now use it on me back pain what ever .. does reduce the problems but i
just go out and get wrecked again..
i use it more then my horse..
it was worth the invesment.. this year if all goes well we will have 4 horses
in some form of competition. i will use it after each effort..

cost $650 yea dont ask ..write it off to research..and learning
