Our horses get lots!!! of hay and turnout on grass and they still eat the
bark off of certain pine trees in the field.....one old old horseman told
me that horses will...in many cases.... eat what they need during certain
times of the year. He also told me that the pine they were chewing on help
to get ride of worms.....4 years and 8 horses in that field and it hasn't
hurt anyone yet. I do deworm regularly and get them checked every so often
and we definately don't have any parasite probs.
