I ride in a newer Orthoflex. I clean & oil it regularly. There are lots
of products out there that do similar things & it becomes a matter of
preference. We like to use mink oil as a water proofer. You do have to
resign yourself to the fact that you <will> darken the leather. (Not a
problem for us, but I know some show riders that would cry at the
thought of their tack darkening.)

When at a vet check, I have a rain coat spread over the seat to prevent
it from getting really mushy.
