When we do in order to get to our trails at night, we take lights and turn
them off once we get to the trailhead.

If you are hit by a vehicle on the road, it is your fault. You can be sued
for the damage done to the vehicle and/or driver, passengers.

A risky proposition for adults, should never be attempted by young children
without adult supervision at any cost.
