Laney,
Actually the Central Valley didn't have much in the way of rain after Jan.
I live in Modesto. The oat crop was one of the best as was every other crop
that was grown in he valley. What caused the problems was the floods. So
if the farmers were able to survive the flood they had a good crop.
Unfortunatley any alfalfa that was flooded was also lost, even though it was
dormant it can't take alot of standing water. So pellets are probably cost
wise comparable to hay cost.
