It's final folks! The December 6 ride will be held at Oak Springs (in Aguanga just east of Temecula).
Just when I was about to give up hope, we located a beautiful campground called Oak Springs Ranch.
The managers weren't even flustered at the idea of 100 horses showing up on their doorstep! The camp
backs up to the San Bernardino N. F. (we'll view Mt. San Jacinto from a distance). We'll have access
to the camp's rec room with a roaring fireplace for the ride meeting the night of the 5th, and a very
nice clubhouse for the awards banquet. The views from the trails that we've covered so far are awesome!

Ride entries will be mailed this week. If I have not yet talked to you, please give me a call or e-mail
me. I'd like to say thank you to all the people who've called volunteering to help us mark trail and
whatever else we need. Thank you, thank you! Believe me, I'll be taking you up on your offers!

By the way, anyone thinking about planning a ride around Temecula or Vail Lake, forget it! Vail Lake
people don't want to talk to any group that wants to invade their space. Galway Downs seems to have all
horse organizations lumped with the more monetarily blessed show horse crowds. Oh, well! Their loss. And
personally, I'd be very happy never to hear about another Kangaroo Rat or some silly moth again!

So the Oak Springs Ride should be (officially) posted on the ride calendar soon! And we hope to see everyone
there.

p.s. It was pointed out to me that some may have taken offense to my caps lock on the previous announcement
for Mt. San Jacinto. I wasn't yelling (honest); apologies to anyone who may have been taken aback.
