The case of botulisam my vet treated came from a bale of hay. The
owner had major medical insurance and the horse survived (thank goodness!).
Just in case anyone thought that baled hay would avoid this problem.

Always take a good look at what you are feeding your horse. If it
doesn't look right, save the portion and return it to the people who
sold it to you. They will probably also want to know, eh?
