I think my email to TB was returned earlier because the email hyperlink I
used had left out a "dot" in the address... at least the email I sent earlier
this morning hasn't been returned and AOL is usually pretty prompt about
that.

I have a constructive and pretty simple solution for the late issues problem,
since most people seem to think TB's content is great but are angry about
getting their ride info late. Susan, finish whatever issue is currently in
the works and get it mailed.
Draft a statement of apology and intent to keep to deadlines in the future.
Mail it on a card to every subscriber, post it on Ridecamp, and include it
in the next issue of TB.

I'll assume the next issue will be Nov/Dec. Redate the issue Jan/Feb, but
mail it no later than the end of November. For ads in that issue that had
Nov/Dec critical dates, give the advertisers the option of a refund for that
issue or a free ad in the next issue. Extend everyone's subscription dates
by one issue, of course. Then keep to deadline from now on, mailing issues
at least one month before the cover date!

This has been done with a couple of other small magazines I've subscribed to
(model horse, and bellydance). As a general rule, people will forgive
lateness, IF there is communication about it and a promise to do better in
the future!
