Sounds like the 'old wife's tale' that we used to hear in grammer
school. The purpose of eating honey was to keep your glucose level up to
supply you with quick energy.

There are so many other foods to choose besides honey. I would think
that you wouldn't want your insulin levels to rise that fast and drop
fast too. I'm sure someone will suggust some better food then honey to
feed your horse during a ride. Honey/simple sugar would be the last
thing I would feed my horse.
