Thank you Sigrid!!

Very well put!!!!!!!!! YES, it is the horse and rider as a team that gets
you to the finish line - and YES, it is "To Finish Is To Win" and on a sound
horse I might add. I do hope that all this yip/yap about weights has not
detered you from wanting to try our great sport.

Although I compete as a lightweight, it seems that most of the horses which I
have competed on (which is only a handful because I manage to keep them
sound), are definately handicapped in one way or another. Either from 'out
of physical balance' problems, or 'out of mental balance' problems etc. But
the main objective (at least I feel) of endurance riding is to do the best
you can with what you've got. Make the most of your 'TEAM' and complete the
ride happy and sound. Enjoy the beauty of the trail, and the companionship
of other riders, or of your horse.

Just my .02
