Johnna,

I have been using an Albion (Mansion House) dressage saddle (wide tree) =
for almost five years. I have used it on at least 3 horses (over 3500 =
miles), and only 1 horse ever developed any back problems. It turned =
out that he had flipped over backwards many times as a youngster (he was =
branded a rogue and almost destroyed), and he had back problems. Now I =
am using it on him and he seems fine with it. Sometimes their backs =
need time to toughen up, also. It is best for the endurance horse if =
his conditioning is achieved slowly over a long period of time, from =
feet to back to brain.

I love my Albion dressage saddle for endurance riding because it keeps =
me so balanced, and offers great back support. My horses love it =
because it stays back from their shoulders.

Good luck,

Dear Ridecampers,
I have recently run into a major problem and am going to ask for =
your
help on this one, because I trust all of your opions. My problem being =
that
yesterday I had my Equine Chiropractor out because my horse is sore in =
his
back well she looks at my Dressage saddle and told me that it was one of =
the
best fitting saddles ever. Then, she looks at my Endurance saddle and =
told
me it was okay fiitting on the left of the horse but on the right side, =
that
was another story! It was severly pinching his right shoulder blade. =
Now,
since the Dressage saddle fit properly and the Endurance didn't I can be =
sure
that it is not my horse that undeveloped on one side more than the =
other. We
took a look at the Endurance saddle and sure enough it's sewn on =
crooked. I
couldn't beleive it! Now, I'm thinking about returning the saddle and
looking for a new one BUT......now here is my question.........what =
about my
Dressage saddle for endurance? It fits well and so far it seems =
comfortable.
My only concern is, will it distribute my weight evenly over his back =
for a
long period of time? I am only 5'4" and weight 115 and have riden =
Dressage
for 7 years so being able to handle myself in a saddle like that is like =
2nd
nature. So, my question is are they any of you out there riding in a
Dressage saddle, or have any of you know if it's possible to ride in a
Dressage saddle for endurance?
I would greatly appreciate any advice or opions you might have!!! =
I'm
at a 4-way stop and don't know where to turn!!! Thanks in advance!!

Sincerly,
Johnna Robb & AM Lilium Dream (who will one day be the best at what he =
does,
well maybe!!!)
