Hi Liz

I have a '90 Dodge Cummins 4x4 p/u non-dually. We originally had a similar
'91 except that it had 2-wheel drive and it would need a push to get going
on a flat grassy meadow and on a steep dirt road it was scary because if we
had to stop or slow down I think it would've slid on down the hill. We
didn't wait to find out, but sold it and bought a 4x4. Absolutely essential
if you ever want to drive on dirt, gravel or grass. Never had a dually, but
I hear they have better traction on pavement and worse on the
aforementioned substances.

We have an automatic transmission which is supposed to be preferable for
towing. The Cummins always has plenty of power and good fuel economy for a
truck and with decent care should last a very long time (the engine). Of
course by then your teeth and bones will be shaken to bits by the ride of a
pre-'95 4x4.

Good luck,
Ann (I love my truck--maybe all that shaking's good for my bones))
