When I chimmed in earlier, the intent of my message may have been
misunderstood. I meant to leave with the parting idea that there are a lot
of similarities to training approaches despite appearances on the surface.
(ie. Some people were saying ignore the spook while others said make the
horse face the spook.) I only used my own example to avoid translating
someone else's words or misrepresenting what they said. However, if I gave
the impression that I'm forcing a ring horse into a big square world ...
oops, heavens no! My horse's spooks were in the ring! She actually went
well in the field and down the trail. But thanks for the comments, no flax
taken and none given.
(P.S. My tried a true old horse was a 1/2 Morgan - what a truly wonderful
horse!)
