girth sores

What do you use for girth sores? I'm afraid I caused a sore on my mare
this weekend after we went on a 1 1/2 hour trail ride. I was using my
husband's saddle and I guess I didn't have the girth adjusted correctly for
my horse. : ( It's not real bad but there is definitely a raw spot about a
dime size at the girth line where I saw the hair worn away when I
washed her down. There is no blood or anything and she didn't seem
bothered by it but I can see her black skin. I don't want to make it any
worse but I would like to ride her tomorrow for a lesson we have
scheduled. This will be Wednesday and the sore happened on Sunday. I
will be using the same saddle again. The saddle does fit her but I will
check the girth to see what may have caused the sore. What should I
look for? And what should I put on the sore?

Thanks for any help!
