While it is not comprehensive there is a good Web site on trails in the
Virginia mountains located at
http://www.insiders.com/blueridge/main-recreation.htm#19.
It gives an over view of places where you can either take your
own or rent horses.

We are working on about 8 state parks that are located in the south central
portion of the state that should all be open for riding by next year. Some
will
be ready this fall. One of these trails has the potential to be at least
120
miles long.

I'll try to keep you posted as these new trails are opened.
