velcro woes

Sorry if this is a repeat - I never saw in in the daily digest
after two earlier sends.

Has anybody else had problems with the velcro for the lidlocker peeling off
the helmet? For anyone w/o a lidlocker, the helmet has a strap that goes
under the "bump" at the back of the head and comes out at the sides. It has
a hook part of velcro at tips of strap and 2 inch strips of velcro loop on
the helmet for adjusting the strap to get a snug fit. Incredibly comfortable
and really keeps the helmet in place, no tippng forward or anything if the
ride gets rough.

The problem is I have had the velcro loop pieces on the outside of the
helmet come loose on both sides in the few months since I bought it.
I have used epoxy to replace the velcro, figuring that just replacing
with sticky back velcro like Lexington used originally would result in
a repeat of the problem. My epoxied replacements have not been on long
enough to tell how long they will last - I replaced the first one in
June. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I am concerned that if
this problem is common this helmet will disappear and I wont be able to
replace it when I need to. I really don't want this to happen, this
is the first helmet I've worn which is truly comfortable - I have forgotten
that I'm still wearing it after a ride! So if anyone else has had similar
problems with the velcro, and especially if you've found a time-tested
good way to replace the velcro, or has used the lidlocker with no
problems please e-mail me and I will compile the results and pass them on to
Lexington (is there is a problem and it was not just my helmet) and to
ridecamp.

Thanks,
