More On Theft Prevention/Freeze Marking

My Morgan mare is 19 years old now and I had her freeze marked
by Carol Roegier of Kryo Kinetics. It still looks GREAT even
tho Rita Mae had hers applied as a ~5 year old.

Carol Roegier lives in Novato, California and will travel
to do individuals and clinics. As I recall, the most she
can do in one day is 5 horses. If
you can get some horses together, the cost will be as
low as $95. Individually, I think the price can be as
high as $150. DON'T hold me to the prices;
that's my memory from my telephone call earlier this Spring.
Prices might vary depending on location, too.

One of the BIG differences between regular branding
and freeze marking is that the horse is not in any pain.
The process for freeze marking is similar to the one used
when you have warts "frozen" off.
And a BIG part of the process is the
scrupulous notes taken by Carol on markings, cowlicks,
etc...this is in addition to the freeze mark.

You can reach Carol at (415) 897-3526. Even if you don't
live in Northern California, you can check with Carol to
see if she travels...or whether she can provide you with
the number of someone in your own area.

I am planning on having my new horse freeze marked
shortly after he arrives (he's being shipped from Utah).
I anticipate this being in the next 2 months. If anyone
in the Cool,Ca area would like to bring their horse to my place (I
don't have a trailer and can't haul anywhere) I'd be open to it.
