donna from Altoona,
Don't hit the panic button. All the signs that the farrier saw could be
related to the amount of rain that we have had the last month or so.
Laminitis is the end result of a disease condition i.e. colic, road
founder, virus or bacterial infection, and enterotoxemia. Severe pain is
always notable with the horse camping out in front throwing all the
weight on the back legs. There is no such thing as a little founder
especially without notice. A 3degree rotation is hardly discernable.
My professional opinion is that your horse is showing signs of the
raining weather and needs nothing but a good trimming and shoeing.
