Growing pains?

I recently purchased a 3 year old Arab gelding, 15.1 hands tall, egyptian
bred. His feet were extremely long when I purchased him as it did not look as
if he had been trimmed in many months. My farrier worked on him and we got
shoes on him and that problem is coming around wonderfully. My problem is he
seems to be off when I first start lounging him on almost any given day but
then seems to work out of it. I have had several opinions and a couple of
vets and there is nothing yet. Both vets did not feel it warranted xrays at
this stage. So my question is, has anyone ever heard of a horse having
growing pains? He is apparently still growing as his rear-end is higher than
the withers now . I have owned a couple of Rottweilers who had growing pains
and have known of some children who have had them. Do horses? Any comments? I
think this horse is going to be nice but am afraid to do very much.
