laminitis

Hi campers, I mean help campers!
I sent a post last night but I don't think it made it. Anyway I have an
update. My mare has rotated 3 degrees on her right front. No rotation on the
left. The vet took xrays last night and gave me the news this morning. I had
no idea. She had none of the identifying characteristics of a horse
experiencing laminitis....my farrier found it when he pared away some sole to
reset her. She has even been traveling extra great lately. I believe this
happpened over the 4th of July when we went to Pidgeon Mtn. We had an 11 hr
trailer drive in the hot summer. We put alot of shavings down but maybe that
just wasn't good enough. I don't understand. this is her 4th summer trip like
this. Anyway. the vet says the prognosis is good if all she has rotated is 3
degrees in since the 4th of July. Heart bars are going on today. the vet even
says I can ride her (well, I have been because I didn't know!). This mare has
come such a long way and has overcome alot..I am crazy about her. Does anyone
have any experience, strenght or hope on this one? It would be ever so
gratefully appreciated.
(Sorry if my other message gets through and this is a repeat.) BTW she goes
to Dr. Peggy tomorrow for acupuncture for this.
